Purple Tuesday

Purple Tuesday

Purple Tuesday, on 12th November, is spreading the message ‘Not every disability is visible’.

We want to better meet the needs of disabled customers.

Purple Tuesday 2019 is an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people. Purple Tuesday, taking place on 12th November 2019, has been created by disability organisation Purple and is supported by some of the UK’s biggest retail brands.

We are able to issue to our visitors, Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyards.

The lanyard discreetly indicates that the wearer has a hidden disability and may require additional assistance, such as giving them more time or using clear verbal language. Wearers can choose to state their disability on the lanyard (e.g. hard of hearing, dementia, autism etc). Springburn Shopping Centre issues the lanyards free of charge and guests may retain them for repeat visits. Come and ask for a lanyard from the Management or Security team.
